Wat Lamdin

Note: I have visited many Siam temples in Kedah here as well as some in Thailand, you can see them all in forum thread by follow the link here (required login), but previously i take photo using DC, this is the recent visit with photo taken using DSLR camera, which is the reason why i post in this photography blog.

Sharing the photos and little info of Wat Lamdin that i visited few months ago. Visited this temple last time on the route to somewhere but only share it today cause while trying to clean up my hard drive i found these photos, thought it might be good to display out instead of delete it. There are literally too few info to share with, maybe a glance at this temple for the time being.

Wat Lamdin is the oldest temple in Kedah state, well maybe with its historical value this temple is worth to visit, even though today this temple seems to be lack of development, a bit shame to see the oldest temple actually turn out to be like that.

The reason why i acknowledged of this temple is because 1 day in Wat Sungai Siput i chatted with the other monks and they talked about this temple, they asked me to go visit this temple, they said this temple used to be a scripture library that rich with variety kind of buddhism script, but got burned by Japanese during WW2 when they invaded our country.

When i was there i see no monks except 1 old monk at the one the temple there, i asked the people near by they said he is the current abbot of this temple. So i entered the building and pay homage to him.

Sorry to say that i have forgot his name, because visited this temple long time ago and only upload it today. He is local thai, just become the abbot of this temple not very long ago after the former abbot who name LP Chu passed away. The following is the newspaper of LP Chu pass away news.

He told me that before LP Chu, there were 2 more abbot, he show me their photo and told me their name but again i also not remember now.

This is the picture of the first abbot also the founder of this temple. The following is the second abbot if not mistaken.

You can also see the picture of LP Lindum hang on the wall there.

When i about to leave i saw a taxi coming in with 4-5 monks inside, i guess they are returning from somewhere. I didnt wait for them to get off from the taxi, i packed my gears and continue my journey. So this is it for this temple, tell me if you know more about it.
