Wat Charok Padang (玻璃樽庙)

Note: Old forum thread from my forum at http://www.megaads.info/forum/viewthread.php?tid=2047&extra=page%3D2. Photo taken using DC.

Today is my first time visit to Wat Carok aka the 玻璃樽庙. It is located in Daerah Sik, Kedah, just go further ahead from Wat Begia (http://megaads.info/forum/viewth ... &extra=page%3D1) and its located opposite of Jabatan Pertanian (on your left), a small road on your right-hand site to the temple. You can recognize the temple signboard as shown:

You can also ask around the local, just ask them where is "Charok Padang" and is there a temple called "Wat Carok Padang", they will guide you. Its easy to locate because its just on the road side, but you cant see the temple when you are driving because you need to turn in a small road as mentioned above. Try to locate the temple signboard on your right, if you are driving out from Gurun highway. This temple get its name as "temple of glass" because some buildings (not all) is made of botol.

But what attracted me is actually this small cave, it looks mysterious, you can find a kinda big lersi statue inside. This cave is great (i think), can feel some energy. This small cave is inside the temple area just beside a small warung.

I dont know what is it but it seems like "boat devas" to me, they pray on 2 sampan as you can see from the photos:

This temple's area is quite big, you can see ubosot, main hall, monk hut, toilet, few temples and etc.

Now let me intro the abbot of this temple, his name is "Archan Nian", he is from songkhla and been here for 30 years already, speak fluently in hokkien, he said he learn it after stayed in here. He like to chew pinang.

This is his small hut, sometimes he is here to bless people but sometimes like today he is in the main hall. I like to be blessed from this small hut better, looks "origin" lolz。

He is well known from his hand palm yant, he did not create any takrut or amulet, at least he said so when i ask him, he said he will create the amulet when he is 70 years old, now he is like 60, i dont know wheather this is his actual age or just joking to me as he laugh while talking to me. He looks serious when not smiling, red mouth because of chewing pinang. I rent one of his hand palm yant and ask him to sign on it. He said he took very long time to meditation & consecrated this yant and you can put this yant in your car, wallet or frame it to hang in house or shop. The yant is for protection and good metta for business. He said, when the yant is with you, for example in your wallet, you cannot touch dead people or dead body. He said the yant was consecrated with meditation (sadmathi) to invites devas into it, and he took serious consecration to make sure each piece of yant is powerful. He said he used to spent long time perform meditation in grave yard, i dont know what it has to do with this yant but as i can see he is a monk serious in meditation.

The yant is free but based on donation. When i ask him how much is for the yant he said up to you, im not selling this yant for business.

His pinang stuff.

His yant with his special signature on it, ngeik ngeik ngeik.

His car sticker with LP Kiew as well.

Before i left one of his student want me to fetch him to Wat Begia, he been followed Archan Nian for 7 years already, a local from Sik. He said Archan Nian not always here, it is your luck to see him in your first time visit. lol how grateful im, thanks to Archan Nian for his lovely yant, liked.
