Wat Cindaram is an old Wat situated in Kubur Panjang, Kedah (run some search on the internet you will see its picture). Local community call it as "temple with headless buddha" (无头佛寺) because once upon a time there was a lunatic man beheaded one of the buddha statue there. They are currently raising fund to build the kitchen building, the event will start on 03/06/2010 this Thusday night at 9:30PM until 05/06/2010 straight 3 days. The ideals of this event start in Wat Lampam....(the following is the picture of Wat Lampam not Wat Cindaram)
Since the passing of the great Phra Khru Sophonkichathorn (Than Ren) on 03/04/2009 Wat Lampam is currently and temporary run by a young monk name chao hwa (昭华), he is the student of Than Ren. He is not the abbot of Wat Lampam just temporary in there to help only, he will finish doing monk after few months.
And so chao hwa is the friend of the abbot in Wat Cindaram, Kubur Panjang, i have no ideals why they know each other and to me it seems like they just did, every temple in northern region of kedah is affiliated somehow, lol, also during the "Wai Kru 2010" in Wat Sungai Siput chao hwa is one of the appointed monk that perform the chanting too. Back to where chao hwa is the friend of the abbot of Wat Cindaram, so chao hwa offer his help to raise the fund for the kitchen building by creating 108 huge size takrut (about 12cm long) where RM199 each (normal price RM399 he told me) for people to rent during the 03/06/2010 - 05/06/2010 fund raising event at Wat Cindaram. This takrut is the biggest takrut i ever seen, made by chao hwa in Wat Lampam and only 108 pcs, this takrut is for 108 protection and chanted by chao hwa himself, during the chanting he invites 108 devas to bless the takrut and during the event you will get the opportunity to see the first ever "takrut trance", meaning bunch of people hold the takrut in their hand, sit down with closed eye and chant "it ti it ti it ti..." and god knows which deva will come down to possessed you by moving your hands in trance (不由自主的挥舞正在握着takrut的手). He show me the test possession video captured using his handphone, its pretty amazing and in 1 video you can even see clearly a group of smoke moving along the fist where the takrut is hold.
He let me try it but after some attempt i end up with nothing because i know myself such a dead meat, never have sensible feeling, the only thing that i can feel is that there are some kind of electricity or energy pass through my hand for several times. Its kinda like pointing the sword of legend to the sky and strike by thunder that kind of feeling, lolz.
So, for those who are kind hearted or curious to see the takrut trance or just wanna see old hot (看热闹), make sure you visit Wat Cindaram on 03/06/2010 to 05/06/2010 at 9:30PM (night time). Its always good to help with the temple development. Sadhu!

Wat Cindaram is currently constructing the kitchen + ubosot, a double storey and multi purposes building. The construction work was started 1 year ago but keep halting because of the insufficient of fund. If you would like to do donation please kindly attend the event on 05/11/2010, which is a national kasaya presenting events.

This is Chao Nu, the present abbot of Wat Cindaram, used to stay and study in Wat Telok Wanjah for 20 years, possessed the skills that learned from Por Tan Ba (Wat Telok Wanjah) and LP Lingdam (aka black tongue from Wat Naka). Put in short, LP Lingdam > Maosim (elder student of LP Lingdam) > Portang Ba > Chao Nu (he learn the LP Lingdam skill from Portang Ba in Wat Teluk Wanjah)

Well, here come the river. Like understand in other post, Wat Cindaram used to be a port, people here use the boat to go to Alor Setar. It was few hundreds years back when boat is the only transport for the villager in here, they came to this place by elephant and take the boat to the city of Kedah, which is Alor Setar. This area use to crowed with siamese, and therefore this Wat is used to be very popular. After japanese came they turn this place into the prisoner camp. Many valued stuff such as gold statue were stolen and after japanese gone villager here start to move out and left this temple into the land of nobody. It was then re-abbot back by some monk (i forgot the their name) and until now Chao Nu is the latest abbot.
Chao Nu told me, actually not many know that he got produce takrut. The takrut making skills is actually passed down by LP Lingdam aka black tougue 黑舌 from Wat Naka. But dont get it wrong, he did not learned it personally from LP Lingdam but he learned how to do it from Wat Teluk Wanjah by Portan Ba. The takrut making skill was originally by LP Lingdam, very good in protection especially in fighting the exorcism, many school children at that time always disturbed by ghost and LP Lingdam gave them the takrut and after that no one else get disturbed after wearing the takrut. LP Lingdam then pass the skill to his elder student Maosim, the portan ba from wat teluk wanjah learned from maosin and then him, chao nu. Now, all the menus script of LP Lingdam is keep by Chao Nu. He said when chanting the takrut, must hold them in hand, the takrut must chanted until they become so hot that cannot be hold anymore then only the power is there. He said each takrut will have the devas inside because during the chanting he will install the power of devas, this method was passed down by LP Lingdam. Each takrut will be chanted 108 times and until they become so hot when holding them, then only the chanting process stopped.
He is currently in the process of making 1000 of this takrut and the price is FREE, he told me that he wont set any price for that takrut, BUT if you want to rent it you must prepare the buah pinang, daun pinang, kapuh sirih and the amount that you want to donate, the amount can be RM0.01 or RM0.50 its just for the ritual only. Of course you can always donate more if you want to, all funds goes to that under constructing building. The takrut outside will be covered by the picture of LP Lingdam, inside have 3 piece of mental made by gold, silver and bronze, each has script on it. He used to produced such takrut when he was in Wat Telok Wanjah, he gave the takrut for free for those who are in exorcism, those who wore his takrut was finally 100% free from exorcism. Now he is in the process of making 1000 pieces and when asked him when can he finish doing that he told me that he cannot give me the exact date because like mentioned earlier he needs to chant until the takrut that he hold in hand become very very hot then only the power is enough. The one that i took for pictures is not yet chanted finished, if not i'll ask from him, hehehehe. A woman came with her daughter from Alor setar. According to Chao Nu, the woman was exocism because her house is not clear. He said when he go inside her house can feel there are ghost there, because her house was located near railway and infront of the door is a big straight road, this is not very good for fenghsui, in chinese we call it 路冲. He said such house tend to keep more ghost. That woman used to stay in hospital for 1 week in serious condition, her daughter drive chao nu to hospital to do chanting, the time her blood pressure was 200, and day after the chanting that woman become better, now already out from hospital. They came here frequently to perform the chanting ritual, according to her daughter her mom become better and better after few times of chanting ritual plus few times of overnight in Wat. The chanting ritual is very long, like 30 minutes, while they are doing the ritual i have little chat with her daughter, according to her, this ritual is 徊向 to those spirit. After they are done chao nu told me if any one got disturbed by ghost, the most effective way to make them away is to perform the merit back ritual to those ghost, because he said those ghost only like to get merit, once they received the merit they will be away. He said yesterday when that woman came he saw 1 spirit, today no more spirit follow her but still the ritual has to be continued until she totally get well.
Before they are leaving chao nu tie the white robe on her hands and neck, he said this is to close the door where spirit can go inside. That woman will need to come back again to perform the chanting ritual until she is 100% clear from any spirit.
Before i go he show me the thunder stone. This thunder stone was found inside the area of the temple, it was instructed by a chinese god where he possessed a siamese person and tell the people where to locate it. It was then located in between a 2 tree. The siamese speak no chinese but during possession he can speak fluently in teow chiu. I asked if this stone can be rent by people he said no, he want to keep it for personal use, it especially good in exorcism ritual to make the ghost away. I feel nothing when holding it, but the shape very special as you can see, very shape at the bottom like a knife.
Before i go he gave me the LP Thuad amulet. He didnt want to tell me who created that amulet, he said you dont need to concern who created it, just chant the katha i gave you, even it is fake LP Thuad can also became real LP Thuad, lol. I copy down the LP Thuad katha that he gave me, if you want it i'll share with you guys. Btw the amulet is smelly good, the smell like Kruba Krisana's butterfly amulet.
